I also love the fact that almost everyone here comes from the same socio-economic background affording very similar houses and thus similar interests.

We bought our house in Glenwood 2 and a half years ago and have not looked back. Glenwood is a quiet neighborhood, perfect for families or couples buying their first home.

There are plenty of parks nearby to walk the dog and playgrounds for young children to play. While the local shopping centre at Glenwood doesn't have much to offer Woolworths, newsagent, bakery, hairdresser, GP, Pharmacy, Kebab Shop and Asian Grocery Store , there is a plethora of major shopping centres and decent restaurants within a short drive. You can get to the city, Eastern Suburbs, Northern beaches very quickly via the motorway and public transport seems to be good although I have never really used it!

We have found a very good GP in Malvern Road where you can get an appointment with short notice most days and there are a number of specialists practicing at Norwest which is 5 mins down the road.

Child care is not too hard to come by and the rates are good compared to other parts of Sydney that I am familiar with. For the money we paid for our lovely house, and what we could get for it if we sold it today, we are very very happy with our purchase in Glenwood! I purchased a house here 12mths ago.

I have been extremely happy here. The people are friendly, the houses are big enough for families to grow in. Parks are always near by and in great condition. People look after there houses and gardens. Transport is close by.

School and shopping centres are close. No complaints. Hi all Any ideas about the neighbourhood in this area? I have lived in Glenwood for 4 years and have jumped out as soon as I could. There is nothing here that is really attractive. If you want to eat out anywhere you have to drive out of the suburb to elsewhere. But the worst thing is that it is a investor's nightmare. Once the shine wears off, you realise you have bought a house that is overpriced and has a higher estimation of itself that it is actually worth.

There are much better houses for better prices in other suburbs that have better family areas and shops. The whole area is pretty full with no room for development and is in the right position to see its value come crashing down, dragging investors with it.

I lived in a great house, but was just not a great investment to keep a hold off when you actually look into the future of this overpriced and overrated suburb. Could You give me example of better prices in other suburbs other I mean equally good. Glenwood is for families with steady house price growth. The past 12 months especially have seen very good returns home owners. There is also good rental return.

Shouldn't blame others because you bought something that you thought was over priced. And if you didn't make money on a house you purchased supposedly in and sold in , then you did something very very wrong. Blacktown Blacktown Blacktown why would you dis own the area you live in be proud, brother welcome. I've now lived in two rentals in Glenwood - one on the Tuscan Waters side which is indeed beautiful and calm, and one close to the schools and the supermarket which is also beautiful and calm, but also very handy if you have school aged children.

The ONLY thing missing is a wide range of eateries and to be honest, if those were available then the suburb would not cope with extra traffic from those who aren't local. If you're on the Tuscan side then it's a walking distance to Bella Vista and Norwest where there are more options.

It's enough IMHO. Not great for No ratings yet. Who lives here? Reviews of Glenwood, NSW. Families with kids.
